As we head into Autumn, we wanted to tell you why now is the perfect time to order furniture in time for Christmas, how to shop smart, and tips to update your room and get winter ready.

Making mid-September the best time to place your order. Allowing you to get on with your plans, knowing your order will arrive in time for Christmas.

Re-Vamp Your Space
If you’re happy with the key furniture pieces you already have, or you have a smaller budget or shorter lead time to work with. Don’t worry, there are still lots of ways you can re-vamp your space in time for Christmas. Switch up the colour palette and transform your room by giving it a fresh lick of paint.
Change the ambience by updating the light fittings. Sometimes simply changing the layout and positions of your furniture can make a huge difference. Or add to your existing furniture with complimentary soft furnishings and smaller furniture items, such as rugs, ottomans, coffee tables and lamps. Neptune are one of our favourite brand partners for Home Accessories and have really fast lead times!
Make room for the tree
A common mistake many people tend to make is ordering too much furniture. Especially when under pressure and working to a tight deadline, such as Christmas. It’s easy to panic, blow the budget and go overboard. Most of the time it’s the living room that gets a winter refresh. So make room for the tree, think about the space, and layout and don’t overcrowd the room!
Before you browse around furniture stores, do your homework. Measure your room, think about the best way to utilise the space. Take into account your tree, fireplace and television, as well as any extra guests visiting during the festive period. Keep in mind other pieces of furniture you may already have and want to keep, or would like to buy. Such as coffee tables and bar carts - anyone for a hot toddy or glass of mulled wine?
One of the simplest ways to do this is to clear the room, and use newspaper to gauge the size and layout of the furniture you have in mind. Jot down the measurements and take some pictures, as well as a video of the room. This will help us get an idea of the size and space of your room. Of course, you could always take the more unconventional approach, and hang your tree upside down from the ceiling. At least the toddler and the dog won’t be able to get it!
